NUTRITION NUGGET: Have you ever thought of using avocados for a sweet treat? This is a great way to get in some excellent nutrients into the body while skipping all the processed, refined sugars that are inflammatory to the body.
- ¼ - ½ cup agave, honey, or pure maple syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1-1½ cups mashed avocado (2-3 avocados)
- ¾ cup cacao powder or unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ cup unsweetened almond, coconut, or other plant milk
- 1-2 tbsp chia seeds, optional
- Top with your favorite berries or fruit!
Blend maple syrup (or other natural sweetener), vanilla extract, mashed avocados, cocoa powder and (optional) chia seeds.
Process all ingredients until creamy, stopping to scrape down the sides of the bowl with a spatula if needed.
Add the plant milk and process until smooth.
Serve at room temperature or chilled.
Add berries on top for added nutritional benefit.
Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator up to 3 days or in the freezer up to 2 weeks.
