The Green Aprons Club – A Fun & Interactive Cooking Experience for Middle Schoolers & Caregivers
Are you a middle school student (6th-8th grade) or a caregiver looking to build confidence in the kitchen, explore new flavors, and learn how food fuels your body? The Green Aprons Club is a hands-on, interactive cooking program designed for young people and their guardians to cook, learn, and grow together in a fun and supportive environment.
Over five engaging weeks, participants will explore different themes such as healthy snacking, dairy alternatives, one-pot meals, and plant-based protein swaps. Each session includes a cooking demonstration, hands-on cooking, tasting and discussion, and fun food science insights. Whether you’re a beginner or a budding chef, this course will give you the skills to be more self-sufficient in the kitchen and develop a healthier relationship with food.
What You’ll Learn:
- How to cook plant-based meals that are flavorful and filling
- Basic knife skills and kitchen safety
- How to prepare and measure ingredients
- The basic science behind food and nutrition
- How to make plant-based versions of your favorite meals
- Ways to expand your palate and try new ingredients
Each week, you’ll prepare and enjoy a different dish, from smoothie bowls to veggies quesadillas!
Join us for a fun, welcoming environment where caregivers and youth can explore food, bond over cooking, and gain confidence in their kitchen skills!
