- Who is eligible to receive free produce? Fresh food is intended for people who are experiencing food insecurity.
- Do I need to bring anything (ID, proof of residence, bags, etc.)? No ID/proof of residence is required. Bringing a bag to collect your bounty is extremely helpful!
- Are the market locations accessible for people with mobility challenges? Yes! And if you need assistance, please let a Bounty & Soul team member know, and we'll get you connected with someone who can support you in selecting your food and getting it to your car.
- Are there options for people who don’t speak English? Most markets have bilingual Spanish-speaking support.
- Can I bring my pet / kids? Kids are welcome and encouraged! We have children's activities at some markets. Please do not bring pets though, unless your animal is certified as a a service animal.
- What happens in case of bad weather - will distribution still take place? Will the outdoor areas be covered? Markets are held rain (snow) or shine unless they pose a concern for the safety of staff, volunteers and market attendees.
- Where can I go to find the most recent updates in case of market or class cancellation / rescheduling? Check social media and sign up for text alerts at your respective market site to stay in the know. You can also call our Market Hotline at 828-585-7835.
- Do you offer any recipes, demos, or guidance on how to use what’s available at the markets? Yes! Most of our markets feature cooking demonstrations and tastings. Plus, our website has a recipe page filled with delicious recipes that match the seasonal produce we offer.
- Are there educational programs or workshops available? Yes! We offer a variety of no-cost classes, from Zumba to cooking to our Mindful Mondays wellbeing series. Check out our class schedule on the calendar page of our website.
- Do you have any programs or resources specifically for children and families? We occasionally offer pop-up cooking classes and other fun experiences for children. Visit our website and follow our social media for the latest updates.
- What kind of produce is typically available? The produce inventory varies based on what is seasonal and available week to week but, we strive to provide a wide variety of healthy fruits, vegetables and staples to serve as a jumping point for meal prep.
- How is the produce sourced? Produce comes from local and regional farms and growers, grocery stores, and MANNA FoodBank.
- Is the produce organic or pesticide-free? We cannot guarantee whether produce is organic or pesticide-free, however, many of our local and regional growers are dedicated to sustainable, earth and animal-friendly practices.
- Is there a limit to how much I can take? Yes. At each market, you will receive portion guidance so that everyone can benefit from the fresh food we provide.
