Beauty & comfort at Bounty & SOIL garden

The Bounty & SOIL Community Garden, established in January 2021, was created as a space to grow food, share gardening education, and gather as a community. The gathering aspect just got a bit easier thanks to a generous donation of a beautiful bench handcrafted by volunteer and community member Shawn Slome. The bench top is crafted from red oak wood milled from a tree that was felled at the nearby Dr. John Wilson Community Garden. Now volunteers and garden visitors can sit and admire what the community has been able to grow, together.

Kate Jerome, another beloved Bounty & Soul volunteer, also contributed four adirondack chairs to the space. Combined with the bench, garden helpers are now able to sit in a circle and enjoy connecting with one another while winding down from gardening tasks.

We are deeply grateful for all of the contributions to Bounty & SOIL, whether it is seating, compost, or help with weeding, and look forward to continuing to feed our local community from the soil we all share
