Bounty & Soul receives $7,500 from BMSVEF

Bounty & Soul is the grateful recipient of a $7,500 Black Mountain Swannanoa Valley Endowment Fund Grant awarded by the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina. These funds will support the reestablishment of our in-person Rooted in Health™ (RIH) evidence-informed health & wellness educational program during our Produce to the People™ healthy food markets. We will provide health & wellness education for children & adults in Black Mountain & the Swannanoa Valley, including culinary medicine & nutrition education, and other preventative health & wellness education, including gardening, food preservation, Zumba, yoga, & mindfulness classes.

The community need for this program is highlighted by the tripling of attendance at Bounty & Soul healthy food markets in the last three years as well as the quadrupling of attendance at our programming for the Latinx community over the last two years. Participants consistently ask for the return of Rooted in Health to its multigenerational, in-person format and we are thrilled to be able to share enriching educational opportunities for the community.
