The Glass Foundation has supported Bounty & Soul’s Rooted in Health Kids™ Program since 2021, helping to provide and expand on youth initiatives and interactive health education for young people across Western North Carolina.
Now, we are thrilled to announce that the Glass Foundation has awarded an incredibly impactful grant of $100,000 over two years to launch the Farmers Market Truck. With this custom-built truck, Bounty & Soul will be able to hit the road, working alongside communities to bring fresh, locally grown produce, nutritious foods, and cooking and wellness education to people across the WNC mountains.
Much of the local foods distributed by the Farmer Market Truck will be planted, harvested, and maintained with the support of Bounty & Soul’s Farmers Alliance™
Program, where volunteers and school groups engage in hands-on service learning that also supports our local farmers and farm operations.
Of the grant, Lara Glass, President of the Glass Foundation, shares her support, saying, “The Glass Foundation is excited to fund this initiative for Bounty & Soul. The Farmers Market Truck will be a catalyst for increasing healthy local food access and farm-based learning experiences with children and families across our region.”
We are incredibly thankful for this support, and for the opportunity to meet people where they are through this new mobile initiative.
