Wonderful news to share! A few months ago we surveyed the community to learn about their desire for a Farmers Market style distribution, which will enable everyone to choose their own food and participate in community activities and education. After lots of feedback, reflection and planning, we’ve chosen – as a community – to shift our Tuesday and Friday community markets to in-person, on-foot, farmers market-style events.
You’ll be able to:
- Park your car and come to the produce tents on foot
- Choose the foods and bonus items you want
- Learn about your local food and farms
- Enjoy a live cooking demo & learn to make simple, delicious recipes with market produce. Sampling encouraged!
- Allow your children to participate in short activities just for them
- Participate in short, fun classes on nutrition, stress management & other wellbeing topics
- Or just select your food and go! – that’s ok too
This new market model will start on the week of Tuesday, May 9th and Friday May 12th. When we have stormy days, we’ll pivot back to the drive-through model just for that market event. Then, when the weather turns cold again in November, we’ll go back to the drive-through model for the winter season.
In-person markets allow us the opportunity to connect with one another during the season of most abundance! Local foods will be surging , the sun will be shining and we’ll be rolling out some exciting new offerings. We can’t wait to learn, grow, and celebrate nourishing foods with YOU!
