We source and distribute almost 8,000 pounds of fresh produce and whole grains every week, reaching more than 700 individuals with nutrition education and wellness resources to guide them towards a healthier lifestyle. The lines are getting longer, and the demand continues to grow. We value the hard work it takes to grow food and want to continue to support farmers through this program. We believe in sustainability and want to offer local, nutrient-dense foods to our community.
This innovative outreach has benefits for both parties
- Members donate excess goods to be included in our weekly healthy food distributions,
- Members receive recognition and promotion on our website and social media platforms, and receive signage for display at their location and for their marketing, and
- Are on the priority list of food sources when we need to buy food.
- Additionally, volunteer support is available on the farm and for promotional events
Food grown in the community stays in the community and the Farmers Alliance Program members can receive some compensation for food that doesn’t meet retail quality standards. It’s a simple, but very impactful, way to become a part of the solution to hunger and health in your community. To learn more, send a note to Tatiana@bountyandsoul.org.
