Ten years ago, Bounty & Soul committed to the mission Together, we connect, share, and celebrate nutritious food, education, and community. And wow, how we’ve grown together. Food and nutrition insecurity has grown too, stretching the bounds of our capacity. We’ve also grown in our understanding of communities that experience structural inequities, and who lack access to fresh food and the opportunity for good health. We’re working alongside those communities to build fresh, local food access and community health together.
In a few months, Bounty & Soul will welcome the Farmers Market Truck, a mobile market truck carrying fresh produce to partner communities across the local region. With our partners, we’ll create place-based markets and community education at sites where people already live, learn, work and play. These will be smaller, community-centric markets that support the human connectivity that is the foundation of
Bounty & Soul. We’re calling that project REACH – Redefining Equitable Access to Community Health.
On the way to that expansion will come a change to our large community markets in Black Mountain. Starting in May 16th, and continuing thereafter, the Tuesday and Friday markets will transition to one community market each week, on Thursdays at the current location, 205 NC Hwy 9 in Black Mountain. You can always check the current market schedule here.
When the Farmers Market Truck arrives late this summer, we’ll begin other new markets with community partners. These partners are already integral to the Bounty & Soul network, and our mutual support will deepen with the Farmers Market Truck initiative.
What’s not changing? The Bounty. The Soul. The Sharing. The Unity.
And our Gratitude for You!
Together, we’ll share abundant fresh and local produce, education, and community at Produce to the People™ markets. And we’ll continue to express the love that has always been at the center of our growing community.
