Beacon Foundation Leads Major Relief Efforts in Swannanoa

The Beacon Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit established in 2022 by three local business owners, originally focused on revitalizing the mountain town of Swannanoa, just east of Asheville. In response to Hurricane Helene, the foundation has redirected its efforts to disaster relief and recovery efforts.

We are incredibly grateful for the generous $100,000 donation made to Bounty & Soul just days after the hurricane struck. This remarkable contribution sends a message of hope to our community and affirms that the Swannanoa Valley is worth rebuilding. With the Beacon Foundation’s support, we are able to continue making a meaningful impact and move forward as a community.

“There’s so much beauty that we’re seeing amid this devastation. There’s camaraderie, there’s creativity on how we’re approaching and solving problems and it really is because of the community and the resilience of what we are seeing in Swannanoa.” -Casey Watkins, Beacon Foundation Co-Founder
