Bounty & Soul Scales Up to Accommodate Growing Demand

Bounty & Soul, a local nonprofit that provides access to fresh produce and wellness education for individuals and families, is serving increased numbers of individuals at an unprecedented rate due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to accommodate such high demand, the organization’s bi-weekly pop-up markets will move to the former Bi-Lo parking lot in downtown Black Mountain starting April 14. This shift was made possible due to a collective effort by the Town of Black Mountain, SEG11, St. James Episcopal Church, Christmount, Native Kitchen and Cottonwood Properties.

This larger space will allow Bounty & Soul to more effectively, efficiently and safely provide nourishing food to the over 2,300 individuals and counting, that attend its markets each week. “We understand the situation at hand. It’s the first time in 100 years that a crisis of this nature has come through this area and we are here to help and stand behind the critical work of Bounty & Soul,” says Black Mountain Mayor Don Collins.

Drive through markets are Tuesdays 11am-1pm and Fridays 4-6pm with no entrance permitted prior to the scheduled start time. The new site is located at 205 NC Highway 9, Black Mountain NC .Anyone and everyone is welcome! For more information, visit www.bountyandsoul.org.
