The Power of Bounty & Soul’s Love Notes
For the past couple of years, we’ve been adding Love Notes to our pre-made produce boxes, and these small gestures have made a big impact on our community. The concept is simple, but the results are powerful. Each note is a heartfelt reminder that someone cares about you, and that you’re not alone on your journey. Whether it’s a kind word, an uplifting quote, or a simple affirmation, these Love Notes brighten the day of anyone who receives them.
Jessie, one of our community members, put it perfectly: “It always warms our hearts beyond measure to get a love note in our weekly produce box.” It’s these very notes that not only uplift our community members, but also inspire a sense of belonging and hope during challenging times.
We Are Deeply Grateful to the Many Volunteers Who Have Contributed
A special shout-out goes to Dhani, who has been crafting adorable bookmarks using her Cricut machine, adding that extra special touch to each box. We also can’t forget Cappy and her amazing craft crew, who have spent countless hours creating and decorating these heartfelt notes. Their passion and dedication have helped spread positivity and light to so many in our community.
We Collaborate with Classrooms & Schools to Create Love Notes
In addition to our dedicated individual volunteers, we also collaborate with local schools and classes as part of their service work curriculum. It’s incredibly rewarding to see students participate in this initiative and use their creativity to write uplifting messages. These students bring their own energy and compassion to the project, and it’s always heartwarming to know that the younger generation is actively contributing to spreading kindness and love.
As food insecurity continues to be a pressing issue, the need for these Love Notes is growing. We want to ensure that every produce box is not just filled with fresh food, but with the warmth and encouragement that our community needs. That’s where you come in!
How You Can Help:
- Write a Love Note: Keep it short, simple, and visual. It could be a quote, an affirmation, or a note of gratitude—anything that would make someone smile as they pick up their produce. Remember to stay authentic and speak from the heart. Think about what you’d like to read when you’re in need of a little pick-me-up.
- Size: Half a sheet of standard paper or smaller works best. This size allows us to include them in every produce box without taking up too much space, ensuring they fit perfectly alongside the fresh items.
- Drop-off/Delivery: You can bring your notes during your scheduled volunteer shift, mail them to our office, or drop them off at the Bounty & Soul Warehouse, Education & Volunteer Hub. We accept them year-round, and any contribution, no matter how small, is appreciated!
These Love Notes are more than just messages; they are a way for us all to come together as a community and show that love and kindness are always within reach. Your words have the power to bring hope, joy, and connection to someone who may need it most.
