Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal

A perfect way to incorporate apples into your morning. A perfect warm breakfast for Fall, when apples are in abundance!

Ingredients

  • cup rolled oats
  • 1 large apple peeled & chopped into ½ inch pieces
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground ginger
  • Pinch fine sea salt
  • 1 to 1 ¼ unsweetened almond milk as needed
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • ½ tsp pure vanilla extract
  • Topping Suggestions:
  • Chopped nuts diced apples, granola, extra spices (i.e. more ground ginger or cinnamon).

Instructions

  • In a medium size pot over medium heat, whisk together the oatmeal, apple, chia seeds, cinnamon, ginger, salt, and almond milk until combined.
  • Cook over medium heat until for about 9 to 15 minutes, stirring often. When the mixture thickens and the oatmeal softens, it is ready.
  • Stir in the honey and pure vanilla extract.
  • Pour in a dish and serve with your desired toppings.
