Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal
A perfect way to incorporate apples into your morning. A perfect warm breakfast for Fall, when apples are in abundance!
Ingredients
- ⅓ cup rolled oats
- 1 large apple peeled & chopped into ½ inch pieces
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp ground ginger
- Pinch fine sea salt
- 1 to 1 ¼ unsweetened almond milk as needed
- 1 tbsp honey
- ½ tsp pure vanilla extract
- Topping Suggestions:
- Chopped nuts diced apples, granola, extra spices (i.e. more ground ginger or cinnamon).
Instructions
- In a medium size pot over medium heat, whisk together the oatmeal, apple, chia seeds, cinnamon, ginger, salt, and almond milk until combined.
- Cook over medium heat until for about 9 to 15 minutes, stirring often. When the mixture thickens and the oatmeal softens, it is ready.
- Stir in the honey and pure vanilla extract.
- Pour in a dish and serve with your desired toppings.
