Milky Oat Tops Calming Tea

Oats are a great go-to herb for feeling calm and nourished and blend beautifully with other gentle, soothing herbs to support the nervous system.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup oat tops
  • ½ cup dried lemon balm or chamomile
  • 1-2 tbsp. dried lavender

Instructions

  • Mix together all the herbs. Add ¼ cup of this blend to a glass quart jar. Cover with boiled water, cap, and let steep overnight, or at least 6 hours.
  • Strain and drink at room temperature, or gently re-heat.

Notes

Note: While oat tops are one of the safest and gentlest of herbs, they may not be suitable for people with gluten intolerance (due to possible cross-contamination from gluten-containing grains).
