Roasted Brussel Sprouts

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds brussel sprouts
  • 3 tablespoon of olive oil or coconut oil
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • OPTIONAL: Garlic salt powder, onion salt,powder, cumin, paprika

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Cut off the brown ends of the Brussels sprouts and pull off any yellow outer leaves. Preheat the oven to 400°F, and lightly coat a baking sheet with olive oil cooking spray.
  • Cut each Brussels sprout into quarters, and place cut­side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Lightly coat with olive oil cooking spray. Mix them in a bowl with the olive oil, salt and pepper.
  • Pour them on a sheet pan and roast for 35 to 40 minutes, until crisp on the outside and tender on the inside.
  • Shake the pan from time to time to brown the sprouts evenly.
  • Sprinkle with more kosher salt and serve immediately.

Notes

Brussel sprouts have shown to be an effective anti-inflamatory food. It protects against chronic diseases such as cancer. It is full of vitamins and minerals!
