Dark Chocolate Avocado Mousse
NUTRITION NUGGET: Have you ever thought of using avocados for a sweet treat? This is a great way to get in some excellent nutrients into the body while skipping all the processed, refined sugars that are inflammatory to the body.
Ingredients
- ¼ – ½ cup agave, honey, or pure maple syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1-1½ cups mashed avocado (2-3 avocados)
- ¾ cup cacao powder or unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ cup unsweetened almond, coconut, or other plant milk
- 1-2 tbsp chia seeds, optional
- Top with your favorite berries or fruit!
Instructions
- Blend maple syrup (or other natural sweetener), vanilla extract, mashed avocados, cocoa powder and (optional) chia seeds.
- Process all ingredients until creamy, stopping to scrape down the sides of the bowl with a spatula if needed.
- Add the plant milk and process until smooth.
- Serve at room temperature or chilled.
- Add berries on top for added nutritional benefit.
- Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator up to 3 days or in the freezer up to 2 weeks.
